Finally Passed 300 people a day on my Height Increase Blog

Finally, hit the over 300 people a day milestone on my grow taller blog.  The majority of that is actually not due to search engines but rather due to referral traffic.  The highest number of visitors so far for me has been 313.  I've been pretty aggressive with linkbuilding lately and I've just started using hubpages.  All my links from there are still no-follow.  I'm working hard on changing that.  The new search engine blekko does not like my blog at all.  Google likes my blog the best.  I still rank mostly for one search a month long tails although I do rank for a couple of grow taller/height increase terms.

Blekko doesn't like Call to Action Articles either so it's probably not due to a bias against blogger blogs.  If you look at Blekko tools you don't see as many links counted as you would with Webmaster Tools.  Blekko is just really stingy about what links it will or won't count.  You can see this fact if you look at Blekko's link tools.  Blekko is designed to be anti-spam and really being anti-spam isn't that effective as sites like Wikipedia can be spam too by displaying incomplete sections of the site(under construction pages).  My site the Quest for Height is number two ranking in my search for quest for height in contrast to Google which has me at the number one and two spots plus the majority of the other spots all talking about my Quest for Height Blog.

The most important function for a search engine is how it deals with tech support queries not with spam.  I can afford to look around spam a little bit but I want a search engine that can crawl deeply into the search engine to find specific tech support questions.  People with computer problems are desperate and are willing to try new search engines to get the answer.  I queried in Blekko:  "What do I do if Windows explorer is not loading?"  First result was about ipods.  Ask got a great result from this query(Ask has been improving a lot lately):  And showed me results from the microsoft forums.  Bing got some good results too giving me seven or so forum threads to try.    Google was not as good as either ask or bing but at least 5 out of 10 were relevant to my query.  Yahoo got 10/10 right in terms of relevancy.

Based on this test I'd expect more people to use ask, bing, and yahoo in the future.  Hopefully not bing as bing seems to hate blogger.  So if I want to increase traffic to my website I should do more to try to target those three search engines(for bing how do I pretend not to be blogger?).

People seem to be digging my science stuff on hubpages and I've got some followers due to my hub about how I grew taller.  So for right now I'm going to be shooting for a 75 author score on hubpages, see if I can get 400 people a day on the Quest for Height blog, and see if I can get at least one person to use my Call to Action Articles directory.

Getting links from pages you can't link to or don't already have links are worthless

How does Google tell if a site is blackhat?  How does Google normally determine things for it's algorithm?  The number of links it has.  Is a directory full of spun articles likely to get a lot of backlinks?  No.  A person who submits their wordpress blog to free traffic system for 7% bonus backlinks is not likely to spend a lot of time building backlinks to it.  Is a person sending out 1,000's of spun articles with Unique Article Wizard building links to each and every article?  No.

If you articles don't have links pointing to them, they look blackhat.  People who own article directories like me are constantly building backlinks to those directories.  Ezine Articles has a system where each time content is syndicated it builds a link to the author profile page.  People who have directories on postrunner are building links to the articles in that directory so they can make money off those articles.

Article directories like Infobarrel have an affiliate program.  Each time an affiliate link is posted it creates a dofollow backlink to their site.

Perception equals reality.  And if a page has no links it's going to be assumed to be automated or some kind of blackhat system.  Unless someone knows a blackhat way to build backlinks to all those spun articles or the spun articles are on good sites.

Now with social bookmarking it's hard to build links to each individual social bookmark.  What you do is you keep posting social bookmarks which builds a link to your profile page that causes the search engine bots to crawl all your old bookmarks.  Then you build backlinks to your profile page.

If you want to be a white hate seo then you have to look like a white hat seo.  If you're posting an article then why aren't you linking to it?  Is it part of a link farm?  Do you have something to hide?  Is it plagerized content?  Why wouldn't you try to publicize your work?  White hate SEO's should try to link to everything they do(or at least once removed by the profile page).

How important is the syndicated content of Ezine Articles?

Ezine Articles is the number one article directory because the rich article directories just get richer.  Infobarrel is gradually catching up due to it's profit sharing.  The main feature that Ezine Articles has over Infobarrel is the syndicated content(I do like some elements of the Ezine Articles editor more than Infobarrel but Infobarrel makes it easier to insert links).

When we studied Google ranking factors using advanced search we found that the hardest criteria to meet was to meet the title.  Google was flexible on keywords in domain, post, and links but not on title.  It wouldn't even count the title of the post it had to be the title of the site.

That's where the syndicated content of ezine articles comes into play.  No matter how much Google loves Ezine Articles the title of the site will always be Ezine Articles.  Whereas if your post gets syndicated it could be syndicated on a site that has your keywords as a title.  Usually, the sites that syndicate the content don't have search engine friendly titles like my content has been syndicated on movie matic(Movie is a good keyword) and people's health portal(people and health could be good keywords but not for most health terms).

By Ezine Articles syndicated content your content may be syndicated on an article site that has a better title for your keyword.  Now how good this title is depends on how broad your keywords are(like Movies and Health).  Otherwise, you might as well post on infobarrel(and then use ezine articles to link to infobarrel as tier three or below of the link pyramid).  I think it would be easier to blast backlinks to a site with a good title that corresponds to your keywords then it would be to ezine articles despite their domain authority(unless your site keywords are ezine and articles; but hey maybe your site keywords are info and barrels).

There's also the advantage that you can self syndicate the ezine article to other article sites but me personally I would rather just use infobarrel.

Sample Flakelet article

Got an invitation to attend flakelet.  Couldn't join with my height increase blog as there were articles I could tie in but they promised that they'd promote the post on 2000 of their sites.  So, since this is my "test" blog, I decided to post one of the articles and see how well it helped promote this site.  If it works well, I'll keep checking back for new articles to use on my main site.

6 Helpful Tips for Writing Effective SEO Content

If you want to write effective SEO content, you should write a draft without any of the technicalities in mind, make sure your content is relevant, strategically use keywords on your content, use lists in your article, integrate links seamlessly into the content, and proofread your work.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)is the method of creating web pages in such a way that they rank higher in a search engine's search results. Websites that want to promote their products and services through article marketing provide content with SEO in mind. An effective article writer and jacksonville seo expert can create content with the goal of targeting prospects and drawing in potential clients. Here are some tips so you can write effective SEO content.

{Talk about not seamlessly integrating links, it would be seamless if it was minus the jacksonville}

Write a draft without any of the technicalities in mind

Remember that you are writing something that will represent you and your company and that it is important that your content not seem stiff and stilted. It is advisable that you first make a draft or outline of the content you are writing without being overly focused on the keyword density and other technical points. It will be easier for you to integrate SEO tactics in the content later on while maintaining spontaneity and coherence.
Make sure your content is relevant
Some writers purposely mislead people and trick search engines by posting interesting leads or topics unrelated to the actual content. By doing this you are running the risk of losing rank or even getting banned. You should avoid this practice and write content that is actually relevant to what you are trying to promote or sell.

{Search engines have no way of telling exactly what's relevant or not; everything is relevant to each other; if you use adwords then yeah this might be a bad idea as that could be seen as encouraging un-natural clicks}

Strategically use keywords in your content

Keywords help bring in the traffic. The more a particular keyword or phrase is used in the article content, the better that website will rank in search results related to that keyword or phrase. Keywords should thus be used strategically. This is done by increasing keyword density at the first part of the article. You can write conclusions or a comprehensive summary of your content at the beginning of your article using your actual keywords. Your keyword should also be present in the title and first line of your content. But remember to avoid too much keyword density as these might end up getting classified as spam. You can start using synonyms and use other terms in the following paragraphs to avoid redundancy.

{Hmmm....I didn't know keyword density helped.  Title and first line of content are good though.  Synonyms I don't know how smart search engines are.  I think search engines may only care about basic things like past vs. present tense}

Use lists in your article

Lists make it easier for you to write your content and use your keywords more liberally without being redundant. Lists also help make your content more comprehensive and easy to read through.

Integrate links seamlessly into the content

If you are going to link into an external page or website avoid using phrases like ‘click here’. Instead, you should integrate links into the keyword or phrase and use them as if they are actual parts of the content.

Proofread your work

Technicalities aside, SEO writing still applies all the basic rules of grammar and spelling. Proofread and double check your work. Remember that the quality of your work affects how readers and audiences will perceive you and your website. Mistakes and errors will most likely turn off your audience and make you seem unprofessional.

{There were no spelling errors in this article I believe}

SEO is becoming an effective marketing tool for websites and online firms. But you should also remember that the quality of your output should not be sacrificed.

The Art of Predictive SEO

Many SEO Gurus recommend looking at the the Google Keyword Tool to find out what keywords you should be targeting(or they recommend some other method of seeing how many searches a keyword gets).  The keyword you target should always be something of value even if it's just a Do-follow blog for fellow marketers to get backlinks.

If it's not a topic you're interested in you'll find it harder to write about the topic so you should always be interested in the topic level somewhat.  If you get sick of writing about a topic, perhaps your interest will allow you to keep reading about it which will allow you to write just one more article.

The problem with analyzing keywords by looking at search numbers is that that is what all the other marketers are doing!  What people feel to realize is that keyword search numbers can change over time based on news stories and Oprah...

If you pick a keyword ahead of the rest of the game you can be faster in aging and acquiring backlinks.  You can get the optimal url.  Internet Marketing is a numbers game so just keep trying to pick your futuristic keywords and eventually you might find some winners.

Space cars, hoverboards, transports, etc. all might be keywords that are more popular in the future.  Look at products in development(a technique of website flippers) or think of good future movie titles.  If you make a website for every movie eventually another movie will come out using that title.

Don't just look at the keyword tool, look inside your mind for keywords as well.  That is the art of predictive SEO.

The Ultimalte PLR mad lib!

Feel Free to use this article template as a PLR!

Once Upon a Time, there was a World of Warcraft Gold Guide that everyone wanted.  It was a method of gaining Penis' and building cellphones in Nigeria.  Work-at-Home Mom desperately wanted the World of Warcraft Gold Guide.  She needed it to cure her families man boobs.  Her job as a Medical Biller gave her a lot of tools to use in the quest for this artifact.  They problem is that she was afflicted with acne and that caused her to have a great fear of dog training.

She decided to use her Iraqi Weapon's of Mass Destruction to hunt down the evil Hypnotherapist.  She would then tame that beast and ride it to achieve her Weight Loss goal.  Upon arriving in the cave of the evil Hypnotherapist, she surprisingly found it empty and instead found a Credit Card.  This Credit Card had the ultimate power of Payday Loans.

Work-at-Home Mom couldn't believe her luck!  She easy-wealthily made her way to the cave that contained the World of Warcraft Gold Guide.  Unfortunately, the Credit Card did not hold the power needed to retrieve the World of Warcraft Gold Guide, as she needed to submit a free email address to acquire the free e-book.  She refused to contribute to the evil American Idol's plan to build the ultimate list.

In the end, her family all died of man boobs.

The Internet Marketer is the author of a height increase blog.  There are absolutely no entries about Affiliate Programs but there are entries about Calcium.

Cheap way to boost relevancy for links using tags

One recent feature added to Google Webmaster tools was the concept of keyword variance.  This new feature shows how weak Google's Latent Semantic Indexing probably is.  The most variance I've seen for a keyword is past versus present tense.  I've never seen Google give credit for a synonym.

In the field of science lots of things are related.  How is Google supposed to give credit for something being related or not when so many things have the potential for relevancy?  So many words have subtle different meanings and some words take on new meanings like lose weight becoming synonymous with lose fat but weight having a very different meaning than fat.  The answer is that Google only uses the exact words when determining relevancy.

What does that have to do with how to boost relevancy?  Earlier I wrote an article about The Keyword Academy.  I was a member for the one month trial period.  When I was a member and submitted articles I noticed that the website developers used the following tags: One tag for the title and two with the keywords of the links.  Now the article hosts have incentive to be helpful because they want you to keep submitting articles to them rather than another member on The Keyword Academy spectrum.  They want your links to be as strong as possible.

I realized why they do this.  I think Google's application of Latent Semantic Indexing is so narrow that all that matters is the exact text when determining relevancy.  You can apply this principle to other article sites as well.  Ezine Articles lets you choose labels so choose labels with the same anchor as your links.  It should be easy to perform a test to see if going back and doing this dramatically improves ranking.

A case against the phrase "Google It!"

I can't count how many times someone has posted in a forum that if you want more information that you should "Google it!"(Although there has been some occassions when Bing has payed to have characters say "Bing it!").

First, this phrase runs counter to Google's model of links being a vote for a site.  It's not really a vote for the status quo as well(the stater of Google It is rarely referring to the number one site) as usually the number one site doesn't have all the information or then the GoogleIter would just say go to this site.

When some says that phrase it usually means that there's no best source for the information and they are trying to get rid of you.  Do they really think the ads in the sidebar or at the top of the page will have good info?

Either there is one best source and you should just link to that page.  Or there is currently no best source and you should design your own page and link to that.  It wouldn't be so hot to post the answer in the post as forum posts are hard to find and don't rank as well as static pages.  Why not just say "Use a search engine" unless you are an employee of Google?  I would say use Ask just to be contradictary but ask just has too many ads.

Next time you say Google It make sure you agree 100% with what the search engines are showing.  I can't think of a single topic that couldn't have search engine results improved.  In real life, don't say Google It either say hey give me your email address and I'll email you the link.

Most of the time in real life when people say that phrase they haven't validated Google's search results and say it in a vain attempt to be helpful.  They think that magic Google fairies check all the results to provide you with the best results possible.

Telling someone to use Google to find information is like telling someone how to spell Kernal Sanders using the dictionary.

Automated Link Exchanges?

I got tired of writing articles so I decided to comment bomb.  Comment bomb is basically reading a whole bunch of do-follow blogs and making some useful comments.  Yeah they usually have strict approval criteria but it may just be faster than article writing.  I found an article on optimal linking for SEO and it stated the criteria for comment approval on the end of the article which I thought was genius.

It said that the comment had to use the keywords of the title in your anchor text.  We know Google's LSI is too dumb to realize when certain things are relevant to each other.  Relevancy is determined mainly on a word by word basis.  This was a genius move.

Then it recommends that you link back to their blog using their own as a favor.  Okay, thanks but I'll skip that but wait if you don't link back to us we'll remove your wonderful link...  The link has to be from the same site so that would make the site less useful if you wanted to enhance an ezine article or something.

Good do-follow links are hard to find.  I think this sites criteria is pretty stingy(the reciprical link part) but I think requiring they use the same keywords that are in your title can be a powerful strategy.  Boosts relevancy scores after all.  If you can find a do-follow blog that allows you to use your keywords and allows you to link to any site that can be a powerful thing(like this one).  You can get links to every page on your site and to all the supporting material.  If you give out links you can assume that people will help you out with forum links or social media links once in a while. If not, oh well.  Required recipricol links are bad even if I just gave Mr. Egypt one...

Google ranking factors illuminated by advanced search

Google has an advanced search feature.  This feature tells us what Google thinks the searcher wants.  Some of the search criteria includes:  Date, usage rights, and where the keyword shows up on the page.  Let's look at the where the keywords shows up feature.

The four options are: In the title of the page; in text of the page; in url of the page; and in links to the page.  So at bare minimum you'd want your keyword as the title, in the url(you can do it as a sub-url, if your blog is www dot make money dot com and the query is make money online with affiliate programs and the sub part is online affiliate programs you have all the keywords in the url), text of the page is easy, and finally in links to the page.

So if you want to be a true SEO master you want to optimize each of those four factors.  How would Google distinguish which is the better fit for a searchers query?

For title, google doesn't seem to favor exact matches and it doesn't seem to really look for sub pages.  For google, it seems to be either is the keyword in the title of the page or not?  This seems to be a point for keyword sniping.

The results for searching for within title and text seem to be remarkably similar.    Again is the keyword in the text or not?

URL is the same deal.  Although, searching for within the url seems to bring up more sites with the keyword in subpages of the url.  This is a point against sniping as if you can just include your keyword anywhere in a long url you can just alter your title to include all the main keywords.

In searching for links to the page, the results seem pretty similar as well but you get results that are google bombed with the keyword nowhere in the title or url but are pretty synonymous(grow taller vs. height increase).

Now, there's a rumor that linking to other sites using keywords as anchor helps ranking.  I think this is true.  Let's say your keyword is make money online.  If you link to a site that's www dot make money online dot com, with make money online as the anchor plus has make money online as the title and within the text; don't you think Google is going to look at that as good for your pages relevancy?

Looking at all the four factors I got starred results for my main website except for all in title.  Rest assured I'm changing the title of my page :)

Making Money by Blogs or Incentivized Websites

The amount of money you can make by blogs seems low in the beginning but it eventually becomes passive income.  With any money making method you need to get traffic.  Being smart and having good ideas isn't worth a cup of coffee at starbucks.  It's the ability of those intelligent thoughts to attract traffic.  Important pubmed articles on fat loss rank way down low in the search engines.  While inaccurate information like the BMI reigns supreme.  Search engines like google do not seem to be interested in providing people with the correct information but rather the one with the most backlinks.

With websites designed to garner traffic the ideal traffic is those with more money than sense.  You can monetize smart traffic by building alliances and developing new ideas.  However, most people just want that money.  Incentivized websites like Neobux where you get a percentage of income for every click that your referrals make seems like a good alternative seems like a good alternative than to target credit card happy people.  Instead of targeting people with money, you're targeting people with time.  This is a lot like monetizing smart traffic where you're recruiting people's minds and ideas by ranking high in the search engines.

With sites like Neobux, you make pennies a day.  With a website, you can make a cent for just 20 people visiting and you can do that just by ranking for fluke things or by advertising on forums.  The way to make money by Neobuxian-websites is by referrals and to do that you need to either do social marketing(making friends on forums or games and then selling to them by IM), SEO marketing(which makes it competing with building links for other websites), or by PPC advertising.  With the amount PPC costs you need targeted traffic that will click on ads for a long time to benefit from PPC.  SEO is based on economic theory of opportunity cost and I think in most situations ranking your website to get referrals for an incentivized website will lose to building links for another niche.  Make Money Online is an extremely competitive niche after all and some of the top people do have referral links to incentivized websites.  Social marketing is the best for this.  Gamers are the best because they have Pavlonian training to click for a reward.  You can also offer free game items to people who sign up using your refferal link.

If you play a lot of games, then go the neobux and neobuxian sites route.  If you want to do SEO, then either recruit traffic who have ideas or credit card happy traffic.

How to monetize "smart" traffic

In the past, I've talked about how most internet marketers and search engines go after "noob" traffic.  Noobs are not savvy internet users who just go to the internet to buy movie tickets or to see the possible side effects of medications.  Noobs are the golden traffic ticket because they don't spend a lot of time searching for facts.  A fool and his money are soon parted but a genius and his money you have to pry from his cold dead fingers.

So, what do you do with this genius traffic who advertisers don't want?  Now, it's hard to get money from savvy individuals but you can still get value from individuals.  Capital is more than just money; it's relationships, knowledge, etc.  The most common value listed that you can get from smart traffic is back links.  Smart traffic know how to build a website.  If it's mutually advantageous for you to work out some sort of link exchange or link for content exchange it'll work out.

We'll call this benefit:  Trade.  In economics, trade increases the production possibilities curve for both nations.  By advertising to smart traffic you open up these trade possibilities.  You can also meet up with smart traffic on forums but you'd also want a good website to put your best foot forward.

The next value you can get from smart traffic(that you can turn into money) is partnerships.  Obvious partnerships are starting a website together.  Or for a non-IM niche, you can take the partnership offline.  Let's say you both run blogs that discuss acne cures.  You can start an acne fighting business by combining resources!

The other benefit is content.  Smart traffic posts comments that are intelligent and have good keywords resulting in more noob traffic.  Smart traffic also gives you new content ideas either through email or via the comments section.  They might even chew you a new one in the comments section resulting in traffic entertained by your rivalry.

Targeting smart traffic is a lot harder to monetize but it is a lot more powerful.  Wallets and credit cards can't change the world.

How do you target "smart" traffic?  Keywords.  Instead of weight loss, use keywords like fat loss or how to reduce levels of adipose tissue.  Use the scientific terms.

A search engine that could compete with Google

We've all seen the publicity for Bing.  I've seen a lot of product placements for it in movies and TV shows.  Remember, search engines make most of their money from inexperienced searchers.  Inexperienced searchers will go for what's cool rather than what's the best.  Bing may be worse than Google, but as long as they target noobs who spend a lot more money than internet savvy people and are a lot less demanding they will be okay in the long run.  If Google has 99% of the market share but Bing has the 1% that spends all the money then Bing will be better off.  The 1% that can be influenced by seeing celebrities use Bing in their favorite movies and TV shows.

If Bing winds up being the favorite search engine for noobs, then why not have a search engine targeted for the intelligent?  Lord knows that people are sick of seeing all the wikipedia results on page one.

The search engine results for noobs and the elite should be totally different.  When noobs type in weight loss they really want info on fat loss.  They want info on fat loss right now and don't want to click on:  Did you mean to search for fat loss?  They don't want scientific journals.  They don't want articles about all the possibilities of losing weight like cutting your own limbs off or slicing off your skin(both of which are valid answers to "weight loss").  They just want straight up fat loss info.

An internet savvy individual searching for fat loss would want info from medical journals and possibly forums(where mavens tend to congregate).  An internet savvy individual would know not to use the search term weight loss unless they already had a saw out.

The ideal search engine results for savvy individuals and noobs don't intersect so if a search engine wants to compete they need to target the savvy individuals(who unfortunately to companies don't spend money like noobs).  Internet savvy individuals don't want dumbed down wikipedia information and noobs don't want to see anything that's not on Oprah.

How to build a search engine that targets the savvy audience?  The search engine doesn't have to be as hard as google is to game as savvy people don't spend money and the potential isn't there.  The search engine would have to make it's money based on an impression based advertising system.  Although the search engine could make money on things like selling homework help or experts.  Students doing a report need to use search engines to find info and they could use one to filter through the crap.  Let's call our search engine "Find What You're Looking For".  Student goes to www.fwylf.com looking for information on his report on the dating rituals of the Mayan Empire, and over to the side he sees an ad for a professor on all things Mayan who's willing to answer questions about the Mayan Empire on his 1-800-number.  Click!  The professor makes a profit.  The search engine makes a profit.  And the student writes a good paper because no search engine can beat the human mind.

What algorithim should this search engine use?  Don't know.

Are people who don't use their keywords as their name in comments the true spammers?

The Power of Content shows us that the anchor text used to link out can help increase your ranking.  The anchor text you use to link out acts like a super bold.  People have reported a ranking increase by linking out to authority sites but I don't think it's the authority site linking that gives the ranking boots it's the link anchor text.  For example if I link out using the anchor text keyword to a post about keywords then that will help this post rank better.

By using their name, people are denying you that opportunity to increase your ranking.  For relevancy, there's no way that google can be that smart.  I don't trust relevancy anymore beyond the word level.  I'm not sure that Google can know the relevancy between all the synonyms and definitely not between unconventional connections.  Let's say your blog is about making money online and someone posts a comment with the anchor text online banking.  You get relevancy for the word online!

Unless your name is something like Tom Cruise then your name doesn't provide any value to the blogger as anything that would be searched for.  There could be a rare circumstance like:  You post a comment under the name Jerry and someone googles "How did my friend Jerry make so much money online?"

Your name is also largely irrelevant except as a means of identification.  A rose by any other name doth smell as sweat...  If your website is a site like Fear dot com where you could die by visiting the website then it would be much better for you to describe the site with your anchor text then use your name.  Your anchor niche can also be used as a form of identification "Hey that guy always chooses banking keywords!"  If that doesn't work then you can always just sign your name on the bottom.

Don't comment spam with your worthless name!  Use your keywords!

The Power of Forum Linkbuilding

Among the possible link building methods which include article directories, blog commenting, social bookmarking/directory submission, and creating new blogs or websites; forum link building is a powerful over looked method.  Forum link building is not just a set and forget put as many links to your website in your profile as you can.  You've got to build links to your linksArticle directories are good but you really want an article directory that offers profit sharing, requires unique content(so you can compete with people who submit to a bunch of different article directories) or has syndicated content which helps build links to your profile page, and has editorial control(in the hopes that google will manually boost the trust rank of the site and avoid possible nerfage).  In addition, you'd like an easy to use interface and have their be high traffic to the directory so you get referral traffic and a higher probability of organic links.

There's not a lot of article directories that meet that criteria.  Some you have to pay for like The Keyword Academy and you have to buy your own Wordpress Blog to take full advantage(so you can capitalize on all the people who want to submit articles to your directory).  Like with The Keyword Academy you have to make it profit sharing by profiting off the articles on your own article site.  And you have to be experienced to make back the monthly payments(although you do get a one dollar trial).

So when you've exhausted all the good article directories, forum link building is a good way to augment it.  Forum referrals from related niche forums is my #2 source of traffic behind Google.  You can have links from both your sig and profile page.  You can also include deep links within posts.  You can also link to other threads on the forum which contain your link boosting the link power of those links.  In addition, many forums have social bookmarking buttons on the bottom of the page making boosting the link juice of those threads easy.

A lot of forums are also authority sites.  So you can build threads targeting various keywords and rely on referral traffic.  Forums also are a good source of new content featuring info from a lot of mavens in a niche.  The only issue with forums is it being hard to get good anchor text but that's why we have article links.

In the future will no one post on their own blog?

Wordpress article directories are all the rage.  Due to the C-class IP restriction and self-hosted blogs built in trust ranking, sites like The Keyword Academy and Free Traffic System encourage you to submit your own Wordpress blog in exchange for you being able to post content on other peoples Wordpress blogs in their Article Directories.  You then put Adsense on your Article Directory site and rake in the money.

The experts recommend 90% backlink work and 10% work on your own site.  What if you did 100% backlink work?  If you write articles from your own directories you can get more internal linkage and not have to link to other sites.  There are Wordpress plugins that automate internal linkage and linking to other sites can help improve your ranking based on the anchor text used to link to other sites.

So basically, if you own such an article directory why would you ever post on that directory when you could be posting on other people's article directories generating precious backlinks so you can make money with adsense.  Yes, people will not contribute keyword rich content to article directories but you can overcome anything with enough backlinks.  Also, some directories like The Keyword Academy enable you to edit the content as long as you keep the links in so you can improve the ranking that way(without relying on backlinks).  And as the directories grow, you're more likely to get more gem content thereby allowing you to focus more on linkbuilding to those articles.  The coal articles still give you internal linking opportunities and hey maybe they article poster will send some link juice to those articles.

You just can't compete with an article directory that wants to make money.  Any article directory designed to make money is going to work harder to ensure readable, unique content(The Keyword Academy has a checker to make sure the content is unique).  This is of course where TKA beats Free Traffic System as submitting your word press blog only gets you 7% bonus back links regardless of the actual quality of the blog.  Whereas if you want to make money with a site, you're going to want to make sure your site has a good trust ranking and authority ranking.  You're going to need those two things to beat out the site that the submitted article beats the site it's linking to.

So, I foresee a future where eventually no Internet Marketer writes a word on his own site.  The most they'll do on their own site is install plugins, register a domain name, pick tags and categories, and edit posts so they rank better.

Article Marketing Experiment

In the past, I've been using article directories mostly for backlinks.  Now I'm going to try to actually feed people to more article which still links back to my site.  Here's my "Super" Article on Table Clamps for height increase.  Now my hypothesis on trust rank was that sites with more trust rank can have more backlinks counting than un-trasted sites.  So the question is:  Can I rank this page on infobarrel more easily than on my own site?  This page is directly related to height increase so I want a high click-thru rate.

For infobarrel, you're not supposed to have a call to action but height increase is so complex that there was no way to cover everything in the article.  The reader could never feel complete with one article and would be compelled to click-thru.

Now when I've done interlinking on my own site, I do notice some of the interlinking anchor text used to help find my site.  But I wonder if interlinking counts more on trusted sites, I might try linking a few other infobarrel articles to it just to see if it helps.  But theoretically, links from external sites should help more.

Also, my article may get irrelevant searchers looking for table clamps and people looking to increase the height of their table.  This will be my first foray into a "normal" buying niche.

I'm going to start out by sending 10 ezine articles to the page.  My trust rank hypothesis is that infobarrel being a trusted site should have all of those ezine articles counting even though there are probably already a million ezine articles linking to infobarrel.  I'm going to use my other ezine link to link to this site so this site doesn't look like a can.

Most Internet Marketers have their farm sites on Tier four or five of the pyramid.  If this site doesn't have a lot of backlinks it looks like a tier four or five farm site.  Google doesn't like farm sites so I want this site to get backlinks especially since it's a blogspot blog.

I'm not worried about anyone stealing my niche because there's no way some internet marketer could perform the height increase experiments that I have on his or herself.

Trust Rank

Trust Rank is one of the things most sought after by internet marketers.  How does one acquire trust rank and what does trust rank give?  Here are some theories.

First, we have to look at all the other factors that are not accounted for by the other variables like Page Rank, Site Authority, and so on.

The main factor is the C-class IP restriction.  Many have noted from their own sites get less link juice from the same domain over time whereas domains like ezine and hubpages don't have that restriction.  Trust Rank is one possible explanation.  The higher your trust rank the more links that are counted from a single domain.

Self-hosted domains rank higher than Web 2.0 sites but Web 2.0 sites can eventually catch up but why?  One possible explanation is trust rank.  Trust rank is a modifier on how strong links are.  So the self-hosted domains start with a higher trust rating so they start off with more links counting and stronger but as the Web 2.0 sites acquire more trust rating their links begin to be valued equally to the Self-hosted domains links.

How does one acquire trust rank?  It can't work like PR which can be generated from any form of content.  It also has to be a fairly automated system.  Each domain has it's own trust value. Every link from a new domain gets you a greater point of trust value.  You can't get trust with internal linking like you can PR.  Each unique domain link is one point of trust.  Trust rank has to operate differently from the Page Rank system to have a purpose.  Hence each domain one point of trust.  Higher trust equals more links per C-class ip counting.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Is it possible to Make Money Online without targeting Noobs?

I was recently looking over at Ben's SEO blog and he mentions that normally he caters to noobs whereas with his SEO blogs he targets smart internet users.  Maybe, I should take a page from pro-wrestling and call them smark fans?  Now, he doesn't run any ads on the blog but he does hype infobarrel a lot and constantly drops his affiliate link(with infobarrel's affiliate program you get 2% of your refferals google adsense adviews).  Now, after the google destruction where a lot of sites were de-indexed, he hasn't posted since.  I take it he wasn't making very much money with infobarrel refferals?  He even had a hook too(100 infobarrels in 100 days, and sign up using my affiliate link so I get 2% of that).

So Ben failed to make money with his high quality SEO blog and made the majority of his money writing about random products which targeted internet noobs.  Most of the internet marketing guru's recommend targeting low hanging fruit with buying keywords.  There are tons of long tails for each product:  Cereals, board games, make-up...  I just typed in "Where can I buy Count Chocula?" and the number one ranked site was Amazon so apparently it's not a very profitable niche.  Now I type in "Where can I find Dilbert Calendars?" and now I get a clear internet marketing site called freeality which is nothing but a bunch of ads.

Anyways you type in any conceivable long tail product keyword and there are sites there looking to profit on it.  But if you type in more intelligent questions you don't get very much or you don't get what you're looking for(usually a wikipedia entry).

Now my website has some of the best information on growing taller myths and it doesn't rank very well for non-scientific terms relating to height increase.  I'm the authority of the science of height increase but if I rank so well for all science + height increase long tails shouldn't I rank somewhere in the trenches of the height increase keyword as well?  If my height increase method is not a success then I can't make any money to support height increase endeavors.

The search engines only care about shopping.  They only care about internet marketers who compete with their advertisers who take 60% of the ad clicks for thin buying keyword sites.  The search engines don't care that irrelevant wikipedia pages take up the first few entries when you're trying to find hard scientific information.  The search engines set their priority for buying keywords versus informational keywords.

Can anybody make money from informational keywords?  The search engines don't bother doing it.  Scientists charge a lot though for their four page "e-books" off of pubmed.  You don't see scientists using adwords to advertise their articles though...

If people can't make money by targeting intelligent people then all we'll see is 100s and 100s of crap articles targeting the same interweb nobs.  You have to provide a lot of value to make smart people take notice whereas for noobs you don't have to provide nearly as much.

I don't think there's a way to make money on the internet unless you find a cure for cancer or a way to increase height(the too are related by cellular proliferation by the way).

The C-class IP restriction

The Power of Content theory states that each page must have some link juice value.  It's rather like a can in fighting where every page no matter how many links go out(how bad a record) gives some benefit to the page it's linking too.  I get a lot of random links but google still shows them in webmaster tools.  I get a lot of random links from the same sites like righthealth and kosmix for my quest for height blog.  Usually, when I search for my blog whichever site is the double listing for when I search for "quest for height" is the site with the most random links.

If Google stopped counting links from the same C-class ip per domain then why are people building links to their ezine articles or hubpages?  The logical conclusion is that the C-class ip thing is by a ratio and that the search engines expect you to have a lot of different links from a lot of different C-class ip's.  And what about internal links?

What I've done is to adapt to what I see in google webmaster tools.  Google says I have 520 links to my domain in my main blog but only shows my 160.  However, for the rest of the pages on the site it shows me all of the links.  This says hey I need to build links to the other pages of my site.  Whenever I hit a plateau on domain wide links showing up, building links to the internal pages of my site seemed to help.  It could however be a sandbox thing(where domain age affects how many links are counted) but the counterargument to the sand box is news stories which get a lot of links very quickly.  Usually they are not whole new sites though but are part of an already trusted domain.

Basically, my view on the C-class ip thing is that Google tells you when it counts links or not.  When links stop showing up then you get links from a new source.  Google Webmaster tools says that anchor text is valuable so if the anchor text is showing up that means it's a good link(comment links show up).  The amount of time that it takes for the anchor text of a link to show up correlates with how valuable that link is.

I think the whole C-class ip thing is over-exaggerated and mainly designed to sell products.  I mean if you're making mini-sites that are one page with exact matching domains then maybe the C-class ip thing matters more but I don't think so for larger sites(I think you can have a very large percentage from one domain no problems as long as you vary anchor text and page linked to).
